1. CONTEST PARTICIPANTS: The ActiveState Coolest Tk Screenshot Contest
(the "Contest") is open to all individuals except employees of
ActiveState and their affiliates, their agents, and persons with whom
they are domiciled ("Qualified Individuals").

2. GENERAL CONDITIONS: The Contest begins on September 7, 2004 and the
winner will be selected on October 7, 2004. No purchase necessary.

3. TO ENTER: Complete the Contest Entry Form located at {insert URL}.
All contact information must be complete and accurate to constitute a
valid entry. Contestants may enter as often as they wish.

4. CONTEST MANAGEMENT: ActiveState assumes no responsibility for lost,
late, misdirected, illegible, incorrect, or inaccurate entry information
or any malfunctions affecting the online submission of entries.
ActiveState reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to cancel or
suspend the Contest should a computer virus, bug or other cause beyond
the control of ActiveState corrupt the administration, security or
proper operation of the Contest. Any attempt by an individual to
deliberately damage any web site associated with or undermine the
legitimate operation of the Contest is a violation of criminal and civil
laws.
Should such an attempt be made, ActiveState reserves the right to seek
damages from any such individual, to the fullest extent permitted by
law.

5. PRIZE:  Prizes must be accepted as awarded, and are not transferable
or convertible to cash. Two prizes will be awarded on October 13, 2004.
Prizes are as follows: Two (2) prizes of ActiveTcl Pro Studio one year
subscriptions (value: $495 USD).
 
6. CONDITIONS OF ENTRY: Only Qualified Individuals are eligible to win
the Contest. Entries will be judged members of the Core Tcl Team on the
basis of complexity, originality, creative imagination, and artistic
quality. Valid entries must (i) be cross-platform Tk scripts capable of
being run on judges' machines (ii) use components provided in ActiveTcl.
Applications can be completely canned in content, but they must run.
Existing applications are acceptable. Code for all entries must be use
the Tcl license or other compatible license.

Entries will be judged by members of the Core Tcl Team at the 11th
Annual Tcl/Tk Conference. Entrants do no need to be present at the
conference to win.

All federal, provincial/state, municipal and local laws and regulations
apply. ActiveState reserves the right to substitute a prize of equal or
greater value. All decisions of the judges are final.

Entrants, by participating in the Contest, release, discharge, indemnify
and agree to hold harmless ActiveState and its respective directors,
shareholders, officers, employees, agents, representatives, advertising
and promotions agencies, successors and assigns from all claims,
demands, damages, causes of action, losses, liabilities, injuries,
and/or obligations, of any kind, nature or description whatsoever,
relating to or arising out of participation in the Contest, including
but not limited to those based on any use by ActiveState, and/or their
respective licensees or assignees, of the information submitted in any
form whatsoever, or acceptance of  any prize in connection with the
Contest.  Except where legally prohibited, entrants grant permission for
ActiveState, its respective subsidiaries, affiliates, and agencies,
without further obligation to the entrant, the right to use his/her
name, photograph, likeness, address, submission, story and/or prize
information for promotional purposes, in association with any product,
advertising and/or publicity without compensation or further consent or
approval. Code for all entries must be use the Tcl license or other 
compatible license.

7. WINNERS' NOTIFICATION: If winners are not present at the Tcl
Conference, they will be notified by email by October 18, 2004.
ActiveState must receive a response to the winner notification email
within 48 hours of time sent or an alternate winner may be selected.  In
the event of a dispute regarding the identity of the person submitting
an entry, the entry will be deemed to be submitted by the person in
whose name the email account is registered.  The prize will be
distributed within one week of winner confirmation. Odds of winning are
based on the number of qualified entries received.

8. ACKNOWLEDGEMENT: By submitting an entry, each entrant agrees that
they have read, understand, and will comply with these Official Rules.
