- x86 or x86_64 processor, 500 MHz (or faster) with 512 MB RAM (Windows 2000/XP) or 1 GB RAM (Vista).
- 170 MB hard disk space
- 340 MB of temporary hard disk space during installation
Mac
- PowerPC G4+ or Intel processor
- 512 MB RAM
- 170 MB hard disk space
- Mac OS X 10.4 (Tiger) or later
- 340 MB of temporary hard disk space during installation
- ActivePerl 816 or later is required for universal binary support in PerlApp
Linux
- The following platforms are officially supported:
- Red Hat Enterprise Linux 5 or later
- CentOS 5.0 or later
- Fedora Core 8 or later
- SuSE 10 or later
- Ubuntu 6.06 or later
- Installation Prerequisites
- glibc 2.1 (or higher) and libjpeg.so.62 (or higher): These libraries are included in standard Linux distributions.
- libstdc++6 (or higher)
- Running Komodo on 64 bit versions of Linux will require additional 32-bit libraries (e.g. libc6 and gtk), which may need to be installed with your system's package manager. For example:
- Ubuntu 7.10 - 8.10: sudo apt-get install binfmt-support ia32-libs
- Ubuntu 6.10 - 7.04: sudo apt-get install binfmt-support ia32-libs-gtk ia32-libs
- Fedora Core 9: sudo yum install gtk2.i386 libXt.i386
- Non-ASCII Input Requirements:
- SuSE: scim, scim-bridge-gtk and scim-bridge-qt packages.
- Ubuntu: scim, scim-gtk2-immodule, scim-qtimm, and scim-tables-additional packages (if not already installed).
- Fedora Core / RHEL / CentOS: scim, scim-gtk and scim-qtimm packages.

- Licensing
- Licenses are user-based, so a single license covers you across all the languages, platforms, and systems you useat home, at work, or at the coffee shop. And licenses include all point release updates (such as from Komodo IDE 5.2 to Komodo IDE 5.3), so you're always up to date. Nice, huh? Read the fine print for details.
