In TDK 5.0, TclApp—for building self-contained, installation-free executables for Windows, Mac OS X, Linux, Solaris, AIX, and HP-UX—has been significantly enhanced to improve cross-platform wrapping. And TDK 5.0 users can now create multi-architecture starkits.
TDK Checker, the static Tcl syntax analyzer, has been improved in TDK 5.0 to give users more control over syntax checking options and output, as well as recommend corrected code for common coding mistakes.
TDK 5.0 also includes support for Tcl 8.6 (expected to be final November 2008).

Mac OS X and Solaris x86
By popular demand, TDK support has been extended to Mac OS X and Solaris x86, allowing new users to take advantage of TDK's tools for deploying executables, finding and fixing bugs, managing complex code bases, and optimizing their programs.

New TEA Package Management
TEA (Tcl Extension Archive) Package Management is simple with a complete suite of tools for creating, exporting, managing and using Tcl extensions, including:
- TEAcup: Package management client for fetching, installing, updating and removing Tcl packages (included with ActiveTcl). TEAcup can also provide meta data on installed and available packages and can be used to search multiple repositories using complex queries.
- TEApot: Expose TEA repositories on a network via TCP/IP.
- TEApot-Admin: Manage "opaque" repositories on the local filesystem. Create new repositories, add and remove packages, list the repository contents and retrieve packages.
- TEApot-Pkg: Create TEA package archives from package sources and binaries.
Major enhancements to Tcl Checker
Save time and avoid headaches with TclChecker, a powerful batch mode code analyzer that uncovers errors in scripts before they are run. Find problems in new scripts, scripts from older versions of Tcl/Tk, or scripts ported from another operating systems, and expose potential incompatibilities to guide your upgrade path to current Tcl, Tk and [incr Tcl] releases.
