Today, Mozilla announced that they're going to be creating a new organization focused on email and communications. Hooray! They're also
announcing that our very own David Ascher will be leading that organization. Aawww....

David has been with ActiveState since 2000, through many stages of the
company. Most recently, he has been one of the developers of Up4, our
first social networking application. While we're all very sad to see him
go, we think the Mozilla opportunity is a great job for him (he's been
going on about email being broken for years!), and we hope he'll thrive
there.

We're also pleased to say that David won't be leaving Vancouver, and
will even keep an advisory role at ActiveState, so he'll stay involved,
even if not on a day-to-day basis.

Lucky folks, those Mozillians. Now David, there's this thing about email
that's been really irking us. Have you got a sec?
