The Spring Conference Schedule

, February 12, 2008

It looks like I've got a busy dance card this spring for conferences! I'll be either giving talks at and/or arganizing one conference a month until June:

March 12-14, PHP Quebec has invited me to speak at their annual conference in Montreal. I'm particularly excited about this one as I've never been to Montreal, but my Fiancee went to school there and is constantly raving about the food, the culture, the techno...

April 14/15, I'm helping organize the Vancouver Open Web Conference, and am also speaking. We will be opening registration soon for this event so stay tunes, but I can divulge that we have a great line-up of talks approved so far, including a keynote from Tim Bray!

May 21-23 I'll be back in Chicago at PHPTek, hoping to try out some of that Pizza this time and maybe even see a bit of the Windy city itself. I had a great time last year, and this year should be no different.

The talk I'll be giving at all three conferences is still a work in progress, but I think it will work out well. It's called 'RIA with Open Standards', and is meant to be a primer for PHP / Back-end web developers on how to extend their applications in weird and wonderful ways using the Mozilla platform / ecosystem, from simple firefox extensions and remote xul apps to such exotic and extensible beasts as Songbird. I'll also be trying to hit the hallways and talk up Komodo, of course =).
