While I was in Amsterdam at GigaOM Structure Europe, I also participated in a panel on "The Evolution of Private PaaS Solutions." The panel was moderated by Barb Darrow of GigaOM and other participants included Ruben Daniels - Co-Founder and CEO, Cloud9 IDE, Johan den Haan - CTO, Mendix, and Richard Nicholson - CEO and Founder, Paremus.
This is a highly relevant topic because many enterprises are increasingly cloudifying their infrastructure and private PaaS is a critical component of that system. Devs want the flexibility that private PaaS provides, IT wants the control, and CIOs want a return on investing in the cloud. Private PaaS enables enterprises to determine their own future and are not beholden to service providers. Check out the discussion - it was engaging, spirited, and highly entertaining!
