Filling the Gap with Commandline Integration – PhoneGap, Cordova, Grunt, Gulp

Something that has always been part of the Komodo design philosophy has been integration. Though Komodo should provide tooling to make our users more productive, it should NOT try to do EVERYTHING. Integration, not imitation, is the key.

With the introduction of Commando and subsequently the Shell scope of Commando, Komodo’s integration abilities have increased exponentially. Now you can run any tool from your command-line in Komodo. On top of this we have added specific tooling to enhance the user experience around some of the major development tools currently being used in the industry today.

Komodo supports command-line build and compilation tools such as PhoneGap or Cordova, Grunt and Gulp. This comes in the form of specific Commando > Shell > [PhoneGap, Cordova, Grunt and Gulp] scopes, as well as a dynamic button in the top left tool bar in the Komodo UI. These dynamic buttons only appear when you open a project that supports the appropriate tool.
