It was cold, windy, snowy, and rainy in Frankfurt, Germany this week, but it was a warm, comfortable, and energizing tech environment at the Messe Frankfurt where I attended the HP Discover 2012 Conference. This year’s event was a big draw. The world-class conference centre became an incredibly lively place, a HP hub for HP customers and partners, with over 9,500 attendees, seven keynote presentations, and 360 breakout sessions. I felt invigorated the entire time I was there.
While I was in Amsterdam at GigaOM Structure Europe, I also participated in a panel on "The Evolution of Private PaaS Solutions." The panel was moderated by Barb Darrow of GigaOM and other participants included Ruben Daniels - Co-Founder and CEO, Cloud9 IDE, Johan den Haan - CTO, Mendix, and Richard Nicholson - CEO and Founder, Paremus.
Autumn in Amsterdam is always beautiful. Throw in a cloud conference and you’ve got yourself a really great time! I was honored to have the opportunity to speak at GigaOM Structure Europe and enjoyed many conversations with some of the finest “cloudy” minds in the business. I thought I’d take this opportunity to share some of my thoughts and observations of the goings on at Structure Europe.

I was very honored to be invited to present a lighting talk at this week's CloudCamp Vancouver. CloudCamp's unconference phenomena landed in Vancouver this week at the Vancouver Convention Centre as part of the Microsoft's Tech Days Roadshow who sponsored the room and the coffee.
