We've had Drupal available in Stackato's App Store for a long time now. That deployment of the app is great for demos, or to get up and running quickly with a CMS, but a more in-depth Drupal workflow involves working with customized sources, doing local testing and debugging, and maintaining plugins in the local source tree.

It's great when you deploy an app and it just works. I recently worked on a proposal for a Stackato prospect who asked about a number of PHP application frameworks (basically "Will the following PHP frameworks run on Stackato"). Though I couldn't think of any reason they wouldn't work, I thought it would be prudent to test them before marking them "supported".

A Web-Framework Weekend: LinuxFest Northwest 2010 Preview

One of my favorite local conferences is coming up this weekend, namely LinuxFest NorthWest in Bellingham, Washington. The range of sessions has always been somewhat unpredictable, but this year features a healthy number of talks dedicated to developing web applications with the main open source frameworks. I figure it will be a good chance for me to get up to speed on any new developments I missed out on, as well as meeting people who are working in the area locally.
