ActiveState Announces Executive Team, Gets Ready to Scale

Vancouver, BC, May 24, 2018 — ActiveState, a leader in providing commercial open source language distributions, announced today its Executive Team to steer ActiveState’s SaaS Platform to market. The company adds expertise in enterprise grade solutions, open source, developer tools, and SaaS. The Executive Team includes members of the Stackato team that defined the private PaaS market. This is another in a series of moves by ActiveState in revolutionizing open source runtime solutions with its Platform for open source languages.

ActiveState is led by longtime CEO, Bart Copeland. Returning are Scott Robertson as CTO & VP Engineering, and Angie Hirata as VP Sales & Corporate Development. Both worked for ActiveState before joining companies in their acquisition of ActiveState products. The executive roster includes Maria Chu as VP Finance, HR & Admin with new additions Sandra Wear, VP Marketing and Jeff Rouse, VP Product. Bart, Angie, and Maria were instrumental in the launch and sale of Stackato to HPE.

“Last year we charted the course to solve open source runtime pains for our customers and other companies around the world,” says Bart Copeland, CEO, ActiveState. “We’re building bench strength to help realize our vision to create, deploy and update secure open source runtimes with a single command.”

Earlier this year ActiveState announced plans to offer a SaaS Platform for open source languages. More information on the leadership team can be found here and the SaaS Platform here. Companies interested in the Platform can contact business-solutions@activestate.com
