I've been having some fun with Adobe Lightroom beta 4, which mostly works quite well for my needs (it's remarkably speedy on my "antique" Powerbook G4). I'm also aware of Google's AJAX toolkit, GWT. I just can't get excited about a Java-based framework. Probably short-sighted.
