Account Development Representative
Description
ActiveState Software is looking for an energetic, enthusiastic, passionate person in the beginning of their sales career to join our Sales and Marketing team in the capacity of Account Development Representative. The right candidate will bring their desire to succeed and willingness to learn to the position, and in turn, ActiveState will help jump start your career in sales, bringing the right candidate endless opportunities.
The bulk of the role will be focused on qualifying and developing sales leads from a pool of prospects generated by our marketing team. Diligent outbound prospecting via telephone and email to produce qualified leads for our senior sales staff is the mandate. The candidate will also have the opportunity to contribute sales and marketing ideas, which will directly contribute to the growth of ActiveState. The candidate will report to the Director of Sales & Marketing but will also take direction from other members of the sales and marketing team.
Responsibilities
- Outbound prospecting via telephone and email from marketing programs to qualify leads
- Develop and nurture new contacts into sales-ready leads in large enterprises
- Handle inbound sales inquiries and qualify for senior sales staff
- Add new contacts, leads, update status of leads and opportunities in CRM system (SugarCRM)
- Provide additional lead and opportunity profile information to senior sales staff
- Assist in the creation of lead and sales reports, quotations, and proposals
- Contributing sales ideas and feedback in weekly meetings
- Relating prospect and customer feedback to management, and provide campaign feedback to marketing
Requirements:
Education, Experience, Skills
- A degree or diploma, preferably in business with a sales and marketing focus
- Highly self-motivated, ambitious, hungry to succeed
- Competitive nature with a desire to win
- Excellent interpersonal skills with colleagues and customers, and excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
- 1 - 2 years of inbound & outbound sales or tele-marketing experience, preferably over the phone
- Experience working in the technology sector is a plus, but not a requirement
- Fast learner
- Exceptional time management and task priority skills
- Experience working with a CRM is desirable
- A fun and positive attitude, and a great sense of humour!
