ComponentSource named ActiveState a Top 50 Publisher and named the ActiveState Platform a Top 100 Product in its 2026 Bestselling Awards, based entirely on real purchases and renewals across thousands of vendors on its marketplace. A purchase is a bet. A renewal is evidence, and this ranking is built out of nothing else.
Someone can be talked into buying software once. Nobody renews a subscription by habit, and nobody renews one that stopped delivering. Every customer behind these two rankings made that second decision on their own terms, most of them well after any sales conversation had ended.
For the record, the two 2026 awards:
A purchase is a bet. A renewal is evidence.
Why the ComponentSource Channel Extends ActiveState's Reach
Not every customer reaches us the same way, and that split is not an accident. Some come through our own sales team. A growing number come through ComponentSource, where their procurement department already has an approved vendor relationship, a purchase order process, and a level of institutional trust that took ComponentSource years to build. When a customer buys the ActiveState Platform that way, they are not only buying software. They are relying on ComponentSource's own diligence about who it lets onto that marketplace in the first place.
That is the part of this partnership I think gets undervalued in general. ComponentSource is not a lead list. It is a channel that extends our reach into procurement processes and enterprise accounts we would rarely reach on our own, because someone else already did the work of earning the buyer's trust. Partners like that do not just move product. They open doors that would otherwise stay closed to us.
Who Earned ActiveState's Two ComponentSource Awards
Our customers earned it, first, by spending their own budget with us and then choosing to do it again. The ComponentSource team earned it, by building a marketplace credible enough that enterprise procurement teams rely on it. And our own sales, product, and customer support people earned it, most of whom will never see their name attached to an award, all of whom had a hand in making sure the product kept working the way we promised well after the deal closed.
That is a long list of people who are not me, which is exactly how a sales result should be credited.
What These ComponentSource Awards Don't Change
Not much. The reason these two rankings exist is that we kept building the ActiveState Platform on a secure, curated open source catalog, and kept showing up for customers and partners after the contract was signed, not just before it. That is the only strategy that turns a sale into a renewal, and it is the only one worth running. If you want to see the catalog behind it, the ActiveState Platform is worth a look.
