New PPM servers in full swing

Following up on our previous post about rebuilding the ppm build server backend, we finally have flipped the switch for all PPM 4 clients (all ActivePerl 5.10 versions and 5.8 since build 818).  The new system is more flexible for us, and provides much better coverage of CPAN modules.  You can see the refreshed website, or simply run ppm on your local system and find access to a lot more modules than before.  To give an idea of the improved module coverage, ActivePerl 5.8 ppm on Windows has 25% more modules than the old ppm build servers provided, meaning almost another 2000 modules are available, pre-built and ready-to-use at your fingertips … and that was the smallest increase in module platform coverage.  In addition, we have expanded the platforms to cover Windows x64 and Linux x64 binaries.

We hope you enjoy the expanded coverage, and we’ll continue to improve coverage over time.
