Intelligent Code Editor
Write code fast and accurately, with multi-language syntax checking and highlighting, auto-complete, calltips, snippets, macros and other productivity-enhancing features. With code refactoring (renaming variables and class members, extracting methods), you can make global code changes, saving time compared to making changes manually.
Komodo provides a multi-threaded debugger which supports Python 2.4-3.3 and Django templates. It can run locally in the IDE or remotely on an external server or platform. Configure breakpoints, step in, interact in Python shell, and create and debug regular expressions with the RX Toolkit.
Integrations (Version Control, Unit Testing)
Komodo has integration with Git, Subversion, Mercurial, CVS, Perforce and Bazaar, supporting all common operations. Unit testing supports the unittest framework, with extensible support for nose and doctest, while the Database Explorer supports SQLite, with extensions for MySQL and Oracle.
Analyze code performance and detect hotspots. The code profiler analyzes programs on a function-by-function basis, tracking which function calls are made, and how long calls take to complete. Code profiling supports Python and can read the cProfile pstats format.
Vi/Vim, emacs and other included key bindings provide you with a familiar editing experience. Customize your UI and editor pane with a variety of themes, and extend your editing and IDE functionality with over 100 available add-ons.
Komodo also supports the most widely used Python web frameworks, including Django, Flask, Pyramid, web2py and more, with code completion and quick opening of project files.
Mac OS X, Windows and Linux
"Capable of running just as powerfully on the Linux, Mac OS X, and Windows platforms, Komodo is the best IDE I've used to write Perl, Python, and Ruby scripts and Web applications."
